The WETT comprises physicists, chemists, engineers, climatologists, hydrologists, economists, and computer modelers drawn from LBNL’s Environmental Energy Technologies and Earth Sciences Divisions. After decades of working in their respective fields, these individuals have teamed up to apply their combined expertise to the critical water-energy nexus. The team’s strengths include an interdisciplinary approach, capabilities for large-scale data collection and storage, state-of-the-art analytic tools, hands-on experience with complex energy and water resource issues throughout the world, and the ability to perform economic and technological analyses in support of federal regulations such as national energy-efficiency standards. To complement these strengths, the team draws from highly trained staff throughout LBNL, the University of California, Berkeley, and other partners as appropriate. |
